Community Meetings, APC, CivicReady

Thank you, if you were able to make it, for attending the community meetings in January.  It was great to put faces to names and hear from all of you.   Since we met, a great deal of time has been spent working on the 2019 Budget and aligning what I heard at the community meetings with staff time and Area "F" priorities.  Conversations and follow up with the RCMP, Fire Department, Public Works, Community Services etc. are in progress.  Once we are further ahead with plans I will send out another update.

Still in the process of transferring over the Area "F" blog that past-Director Brydon maintained.  It shouldn't be too much longer.  Just waiting for some internal RDOS IT changes to be put into place then the blog should be good to go.  If you have signed up to this blog or provided your email at the community meetings I will be sure to add you to the new blog's contact list.

In the meantime, some of you indicated an interest in joining the Advisory Planning Commission (APC).  I have attached the link to the application form and more information here.  It would be greatly appreciated if you are interested.  We don't meet too often in Area "F" but hearing from the community on planning issues is important.  Happy to chat further if you have additional questions.    There will be an APC  workshop on Saturday, February 23 from 9:00 am-12: 00 pm.

Also, if you haven't already done so, please sign up for CivicReady. https://rdos.ca.regroup.com/networks/rdos/locations/electoral-area-f-/location_register    It is a mass communication system that will send you information via text, cell or phone call.  Critically important during emergencies but we are also looking at ways to use it for other notifications like community events.  You get to select what you want to hear about when you sign up.

Let me know if you have any questions.

I'll be in touch soon.

Riley
