Faulder Water System Budget - 2019

Updated: Mar 10, 2019

On January 29, a community meeting was held in Summerland to review the first draft of the 2019 Budget. At that time, the Faulder Water System had a 2019 budget of $172,628. An increase of $32,324 over the 2018 final budget of $140,304.

Since that meeting, I worked closely with both the Regional District’s Accounting and Public Works Departments and was able to get the 2019 Budget down to $149,536 (an increase of $9,232 over 2018).  The increase will cover the new concrete pad for the the canister loading dock, generator parts and ongoing maintenance.

2020 is set to see more necessary capital investment into the actual system.  I have spoken to Public Works and we will host another community meeting later this year to discuss those investments and how to best approach paying for those investments.

My goal is to ensure that the system is maintained, well-run and provides water that meets provincial health standards while being sensitive to those who have to pay for the system.  We will keep working on this together.

As always, if you have any questions or comments please let me know.

Take care,

Riley
