September Update

Happy Labour Day Long Weekend everyone!

Just a few updates to share.

I have my RDOS email back (yay!) however, I do not have access to past emails or my address book. If you are waiting to hear from me, please resend the email so I have your address and our latest communication. Thank you! rgettens@rdos.bc.ca

Age Friendly Survey (open until Sept. 14)

  • Here is the background: In an age-friendly British Columbia, older people are supported to live active, socially engaged, independent lives. Our vision is of a province where people of all ages and abilities feel included and valued in their communities. Through Age-friendly B.C., the government of British Columbia is working with local governments and other partners to achieve this vision

  • For more information, visit RDOS Recreation Website.

  • Regional Connections is an interactive portal to share information and gather feedback about Regional District of Okanagan-Similkameen (RDOS) projects and initiatives.

  • Sign up to receive project updates and participate in shaping your community.

  • There is currently information on the proposed compost facility and a link to the most recent Citizen Survey.

Large Item Pick Up Thursday, October 15 for Greater West Bench

  • Only furniture, mattresses, boxsprings and large appliances will be picked up. A maximum of two items per house will be collected, and each item cannot weigh more than 90kg or 200lbs.

  • Items that will not be collected include electronics, lawn mowers, carpet, blinds, demolition materials or plumbing fixtures. Contact your local landfill or the Regional District for more information on recycling these items.

Greater West Bench Transit

  • BC Transit has put all new routes on hold in 2020 due to COVID. I've asked staff to put together information on when we can expect to see the bus in Greater West Bench. I'll share that information as soon as I have it.

If you need to email the RDOS, please use the following addresses. In the subject line, clarify who your email is directed to and it will be forwarded appropriately. If you are not sure, email info@rdos.bc.ca and it will get to the right person.

Thank you!

Riley
